I have been an assemblage, collage and book artist for over 30 years. I also create assemblage jewelry made from alternative and diverse materials. Through my work I interpret the mystery, the humor and the threat of my dreams. Like a beachcomber or a scavenger wandering among the ruins, I collect and juxtapose bits of disparate material, creating my own order. The souvenirs of my travels have been a constant source of inspiration but I am a collector of all manner of objects; everything can be used…one never knows what one object will tell another. That is my method and my mantra.
“Elena Mary Siff mines a broad range of contemporary images and artifacts in work with a particularly social and political bent.” – Nancy Doll, Former Director, Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts forum.
