Joanna Craft went from landscape designer to jewelry designer about 20 years ago. Her latest collection reflects a very dramatic shift in her skills and creativity.
Using traditional metalsmithing techniques, Craft fabricates modern art jewelry in sterling silver using mixed metal accents of copper, bronze and brass…on some, adding unusual and interesting stones. The mix creates a rustic modern feel, with an interesting contrast between the cool silver and the warm copper and bronze. Craft fabricates each piece in her studio — cutting, hand stamping, texturing, hammering, forging and soldering the metal. The result is jewelry that is artistic and functional at its very best.
